Environmental Justice Policy Associate

Milena earned her Master of Public Policy, with a concentration in environment and energy, from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy in 2025. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology & Society from Cornell University, which she earned in 2022. Upon graduating from Cornell, she served as the Tenant Engagement Coordinator at Sustainable Finger Lakes, a sustainability nonprofit organization based in Ithaca, NY. In this role, she established and designed the tenant engagement portion of the organization’s Clean Energy & Equity Pilot, which expanded access to heat pumps for low-to-moderate income rental units. While in graduate school, she interned at the League of Conservation Voters and Waxman Strategies, both based in Washington, DC. She gained experience in government affairs and federal clean energy policy through these internships. She completed her Master’s Project on creating an economic advocacy framework for coal-to-clean energy transitions in North Carolina, in which her client was the Environmental Defense Fund’s Raleigh, NC office. Originally from Lawrence Township, NJ, she is excited to bring her environmental policy and advocacy experience to her home state.
